Since 2008, Blend and Pack has gained a solid reputation for its integrity and its innovative approach to solving high volume packaging challenges in the infant formula and adult nutrition market.
Worldwide demand for dairy nutrition is increasing and Australia’s reputation as a supplier of safe, reliable product is presently unsurpassed. Blend and Pack only uses Australian product.
The Blend and Pack facility is located 35 km South of Melbourne CBD, which provides excellent access to the rich, green dairy fields of Gippsland and the Goulburn Valley, which supply 65% of all Australian dairy products. In these areas, open pasture farming with low on-farm inputs provides a natural product, much to the envy of other farming nations.
The unique Hallam facility in Victoria, Australia has benefited from multi-award winning equipment designer Andrew Grant, Adam Collins and James Condon. The focus on mechatronics and micro mechanisation creates a safe and reliable facility and limited human contact with the product. The efficiencies of automated processing provide an opportunity for large volume outputs at a competitive price.

Innovation
We use the superior wet blending process
Blend and Pack use wet blended infant formula in all our production rather than an elementary dry blend. The wet blending process ensures that the nutrition in the formula is in fact delivered in each serve of product. This superior manufacturing process provides far greater peace of mind for the consumer.
When addressing the source of your product you should be aware of the following aspects of wet blended products:
Solubility – Wet blended products readily dissolve in water, whereas dry blended product may stick to the bottle, which will inhibit the powder dissolving in water, and may even foul the teat of the bottle.
Homogeneity – With wet blended product, all materials are uniformly distributed in the solution before being sprayed. This allows each particle to have an equal representation of all ingredients.
Colour – Issues with colour are often seen with dry blended powders as the materials used may vary from a brilliant white to a cream colour, which may leave consumers questioning if there is a problem with the product. Wet blended powder has a slight yellow colour, which is consistent with dried cows milk.
Particle Size – The particle size of wet blended powder is very consistent with a specification varying by not more than 5%. Dry blended powder can have issues with uniformity due to inconsistent particle size, which results in important nutrients not being spread evenly throughout the milk powder.
These aspects show that wet blended product has a clear advantage in terms of product integrity. This advantage is demonstrated in the consistent test results that are obtained for wet product when compared to the irregular test results often observed for dry blended product.
It is this combination of wet blending technology and quality ingredient selection that allows Blend and Pack to offer clients a consistent and safe product.
